Printspace

What do you get when you combine the creativity and art of a couple of professional designers inspired by Mid 20th Century design and illustration; Danish design and vintage advertising posters?
The answer is Printspace!
You can always tell a Printspace product by the colours used and the personal nature of the designs. The papers are beautiful and all art prints come signed by the artists.
About the Artists
Husband and wife duo Mara Girling and Nicholas Girling both studied Graphic Design at Swinburn and Monash Universities in Melbourne Australia. They share an interest for creating artworks which are memorable and positive. Printspace is also supported by a small team of big personalities including Anna, Jim in Melbourne, plus our extended family of supporters and followers.
About the Art
Decisions on materials and presentations are always based around longevity and the finest elements available. Quality is extremely important when it comes to Printspace. Where possible they seek out earth friendly papers, materials and vegetable based inks. Aside from their art products, the recent attractive point of sale displays are made from post consumer waste.
The art prints are currently used in the Australian TV show "Winners and Losers". They have also been featured on The Design Files, Marie Claire Magazine and Real Living Magazine. Printspace have stockists throughout Australia, some in New Zealand and in the USA.
Created for the young and young at heart, the Printspace collection is designed to be bold, memorable and timeless to remain in your life for years. Find sweet birds, hooting owls, quirky penguins and retro robots amongst the range. Created and made in Melbourne Australia by Artists Mara Girling and Nicholas Girling. The stylish and colourful prints make great gifts.
How did Printspace start?
A Shared enthusiasm for creating art sparked the beginning of Printspace. Both Mara and Nicholas knew having a studio, creating lifestyle / art based products was a big part of their future. Mara took time off work to have their 2 boys and after a few false starts with the materials and methods, some scratching of the head, grinding of the teeth and occasional frowning, they decided to stick at it and press onward and upward. Printspace has grown from the support of the people around Nicholas and Mara and now Printspace has an energy of it's own.
Both have collected bits and pieces over the years and created scrap books which clarified their personal styles and colours. The other guiding light is their attraction to modernist architecture, commercial-art and illustration in the late 50's and early 60's.
Their continued aim is to run a highly creative studio that is inspiring and fun, surrounded by a clever team of suppliers at the very top of their respective fields.
