Who creates the art and where is it made?
Artists and designers Mara and Nicholas Girling create all the art and we work from our studio in Melbourne. We organise the prints, the post, the couriers if needed and the framing for larger artworks ourselves. Ebony, our graphic designer creates all our birth print orders. When you order from us, you are directly supporting the creatives behind these artworks. If you like what we are doing, we'd love to hear from you.

Can I buy something from you if I order it outside of Australia
Yes, we can ship internationally as well as within Australia. We post in solid mailers and also larger works are posted in solid tubes. We track orders. We do not post framed artworks as it is not worth it for you. But we can recommend styles of frames for you. For more information visit our Shipping & Returns page.

Do you offer a framing service?
We do provide professional framing for larger size prints. For more information you may go to Printspace® framing ideas page on this website where we list the prices towards the bottom. and...

We have also created a great research guide with images about off-the-shelf frames from several retail stores around Australia. Get the Printspace® Off-the-shelf framing guide emailed to you now.

How long does shipping take?
Please visit our Shipping & Returns page.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?
The colour of prints is represented as close to real life as possible (please allow slight variations from monitor to print.). Every monitor displays colour differently. The artists themselves do all the colour setting and checking.

Can you tell me about the different papers?
Many of our art prints are available in both different sizes and paper options. The only exception is the city prints which are only available on a thick premium cotton rag paper using pigment inks.

Cotton-rag paper: This is the top-shelf stuff. It is thick, matte and built specifically to handle premium pigment inks. Pigment based ink is top-shelf stuff as it is made for long life. So if you are looking for long life prints (i.e. fine art prints) then go for the cotton-rag paper. It's museum grade and is also more valuable as an art investment. We use this paper for our limited edition prints and our artists personally sign and number our limited editions.

Poster paper: Our posters and smaller general open edition prints are printed on two stocks determined by the size.

- Smaller prints: 8 x 10" and 12 x 16" prints are printed on a thick matte paper, with a subtle luxury texture.

- Poster prints are on a standard medium weight matte stock. Made at an affordable price point. Looks bright and terrific with both colour and detail  - The paper and the inks are not museum grade for standard poster paper and are therefore not rated for long life. If your artwork is in direct sunlight, we suggest the cotton-rag paper as the inks used on cotton-rag paper are different. Posters are not personally signed, however the title and artist name does appear in a small attractive script.

What can I do if the artwork arrives damaged?
While this rarely happens, if you do receive a damaged item, don't hesitate to contact us within two days of receipt of the order and we can help.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept credit card payments, PayPal payments and direct bank deposits. We also provide AfterPay as a payment option where smaller payments can be split over time. You will find these options during the checkout process. When using Paypal, you have the option of using a credit card without needing to create a Paypal Account. You can use the Paypal secure processing area. You know it is secure because the domain name says https rather than http. The 's' stands for secure.

Can I buy a birth print in a different colour?
Yes, simply order the birth print design and include a note in the form provided listing the colours you would like. Visit our contact page for the best person to contact about your question.

Do you take on commissions for City Prints?

When I buy art, can I reproduce the art again?
Artwork may not be reproduced. The artist reserves all rights including ©copyright.  Purchase does not transfer rights.

If you no longer list a certain print, can I still order it?
On occasion there are people who would like to order the same birth print for their second child. We do keep everything we create and may be able to assist with some enquiries.

We are normally at Markit at Fed Square and also at The Big Design Market in Melbourne. We sometimes attend other markets too. If you would like to come and meet us one day, we'd love to meet you. Please join our email newsletter and you will know what we are creating and where we will be.
